What Makes This Different
The hardest part of filing your own divorce is not filling in forms. It is knowing what to do with them: which office takes them, how many copies of each one, who the check goes to, what the clerk will do, and how long you wait. Most services stop at the documents. Autonomy ships the instructions with them.
The instructions are personalized, not a generic handout. Filing jointly or on your own, with children or without, requesting a fee waiver or paying the fee: each path changes the steps, and your instructions reflect the path you are actually on. If any form has a section you must complete by hand, the instructions say so explicitly instead of letting it slip through blank.
How It Works in Autonomy
1. Every step is numbered. Take your documents to your county circuit court clerk's office. Pay the filing fee, with the exact amount and the payee named. The clerk assigns your case number and judge. Serve your spouse when your path requires it. Wait out the statutory waiting period for your case. Then return to Autonomy to prepare your Judgment of Divorce.
2. The document checklist tells you how many copies of each form to bring and carries form-specific notes, like the case inventory that files with your complaint but is never served on the other party.
3. Instructions come in English or Spanish, appear on your documents page, and download with your package as a file you can print and take to the courthouse.
